Cricket Institutions Finding Separate Cricket Institutions for Regions

Hyderabad: As Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) failed to promote cricket in the region and shared details of the event on its website, the Telangana District Cricket Association has asked the Council of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) to allow three independent cricket agencies in the state.
Although BCCI has provided Rs 2 million to HCA over the past two years, HCA bosses have not even spent 0.1% of the money in the region. They use this money to protect their interests in Hyderabad. In the last two AGM meetings, the HCA was determined to spend at least 25% of the money in various regions, but Paisa was spent in those regions.
The HCA faces ingrained allegations of corruption, mismanagement and power politics, failing to build a single turf ground or stadium in the area, along with other cricket infrastructure.
HCA’s Coaching Academy – Hyderabad Cricket Excellence Academy (HCAE) and cricket professionals expressed dissatisfaction with the HCA, ignoring the region and the advantages of the Hyderabad club with voting rights.
HCAE Director Vijay Mohan Raj recently criticized HCA in a strongly worded letter because the coaches did not have review and targeted plans before organizing summer camps under pressure from BCCI.
After several complaints with BCCI, Agam Rao said the National Cricket Administrator directed the HCA again in 2018, 2021 and 2022 to work transparently, promote cricket in the area and upload details of the event on the website. It also directed the HCA to submit its regional activity reports to BCCI every six months.
Agam Rao said the BCCI requires HCA to have at least one member from each of the 32 regions in the association, while the current eight members represent all regions.
He said players from the region had little chance of performing and entering the state team because they never offered professional coaches or allowed to play. Agam Rao said many potential players were forced to move to the city, gaining coaching at private city clubs in the HCA league by incurring extremely high fees and facing hardships.
Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy, founder of Telangana District Cricket Association (TDCA), cites Maharashtra and Gujarat, each with three cricket bodies.
Hyderabad is represented by HCA's 210 cricket clubs, while only eight are left in the rest of the area.
Venkateshwar Reddy said HCA expanded all offers to 210 clubs when participating in the HCA election, but the rest of the area was ignored. “No stadium was developed in the area where the cricket coaches were.”
“If the HCA claims to represent these areas, why can’t it build a stadium in the area? Andhra Cricket Association has developed good infrastructure in Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Kadapa and others. Venkateshwar Reddy said.
To protect Telangana outside Hyderabad, cricket professionals asked BCCI to dissolve the HCA and established two separate cricket committees to represent Hyderabad and the region, respectively.
