Cricketers, fans mourn terrorist attacks in IPL game

Hyderabad: Hyderabad cricket fans joined the rest of India to condemn the terrorist attack in Pahargam and observed a two-minute silence before the start of the IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Mumbai Indians on Wednesday, mourning the victims before Wednesday’s IPL match.

Supporters caught the attention of the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium scene, while players from both teams lined up near the border line of the southern pavilion, bowed their heads and black armbands succumbed to the respect of those affected by the incident in Jammu & Kashmir.

The 120-second silence was broken by the full-throated record of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and some screaming “Jai Shri Ram” that followed by applause.

There are no cheerleading and fireworks in this game.

The BCCI also issued a statement to condemn the “terrible and timid” attack. “The cricket community was shocked and annoyed by the innocent terrorist attacks in Pahalgam yesterday. Yesterday in the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam. Representative to the BCCI while condemning this terrible and timid act with the strongest words, I have sustained the pain of bereavement families and painful religions.
