CRPF detective officer married to Pakistan

New Delhi: The CRPF has launched a departmental investigation against Constable Munir Ahmed, a police officer in the 41st Battalion, who married Pakistani nationals without formally approving the force, attracting attention for procedural violations and violations of national security.

Munir has submitted a request for approval to marry the competent authorities, but he nodded to the official last May. Officials said the unauthorized constitutional act led to a disciplinary process, a process that was recommended in the initial investigation to conduct a departmental investigation to violate the rules of service.

They said it was a problem in the policy area because it was the marriage of a man in uniform to a Pakistani woman.
The police officer's marriage to a Pakistani girl named Menal Khan is summoned solemnly through WhatsApp, in which case the marriage also lacks procedural and legal validity. On September 24 last year, she entered India on a visitor visa.

The CRPF's Jamu and Kashmir region advised not to grant police officers “No objection certificate” because his marriage to Menal Khan cited national security reasons and the need for policy decisions is a sensitive issue. Instead of waiting for a formal decision, Munier married Parker girl, officials said.

Officials said police officers made many mistakes, such as not informing authorities of their arrival, her wife’s arrival and her visa term lasting until March 22, and she continued to stay in India.

They also said that the CRPF had conducted an investigation and found that in 1964, police officers violated the rules of conduct and are now considering departmental disciplinary action under Article 21(3) of the CCS (Conduct) Rules.

The rule states that government servants who marry or marry someone other than Indian nationality must immediately inform the government of the fact.

In addition, he said his wife had applied for a long-term visa, but the facts were not informed by the department individually. They added that the decision on the awarding of her LTV is still under trial.

Menal Khan was deported to the Attari-Wagah border after the government decided to send back all Pakistani nationals after the deadly Pahalgam attack, but her exit was temporarily stayed on April 29, 2025 by Jammu and Kashmir High Court for 10 days for a temporary stay on 10 days for further hearings on the matter.
