Hyderabad: Ibrahim Pratnam police received complaints from three people accusing them of finding a lizard in the chicken biryani, which was provided to them by the Mehfil Hotel on Sagar Road.
Grishna Reddy, a resident of Sheriguda Village in Ibrahimpatnam, two others came to Mehfil restaurant and ordered Biryani chicken. After the waiter served them, Reddy and others discovered the lizards that were blown up in Biryani.
When they asked him, the waiter pretended to be ignorant. They had no other option, they contacted the manager and asked about the unqualified quality of the food they were serving, which posed a health risk to them.
To their surprise, the manager advised Reddy and others to eat the lizard because it was fried well. Reddy and others were angry at the manager’s reply, and others came to the Ibrahimpatnam police station and filed a complaint.
Ibrahimpatnam Deputy Inspector V Chander Singh confirmed that Reddy and two others received complaints about Mehfil Hotel. “We entered the complaint details in the general diary maintained by the police department and called on the manager Razack to ask him to appear before us,” he said.
Reddy also filed another complaint with Ibrahimpatnam municipal and food safety officials at Mehfil Hotel.
