In March, export inches rose 0.7% to $41.97 billion; trade deficit hit $21.54 billion

The latest government data shows that India’s exports were slightly 0.7% in March to $41.97 billion, while the trade deficit this month was $21.54 billion.

Imports in March rose 11.3% year-on-year to $63.51 billion, according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce.

Cumulatively, in the 2024-25 fiscal year (April to March), the country’s exports rose by 0.08% to US$437.42 billion, while imports rose by 6.62% to US$720.24 billion.

Overall exports of goods and services in the country increased by 5.5% to $820.93 billion.
