Two students were killed and 21 injured as overturned university buses in JK’s Kupwara

Officials said the accident occurred near the Voltbola area of ​​Handwara, when the bus took 27 GDC students to the picnic site in Sogam.
A female student was killed by a hospital in Handwara. They said two injured students were referred to a critical Srinagar hospital, one of whom surrendered.
Officials said the FIR has been registered and an investigation has been conducted.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah grieved the death.
“In the tragic accident near Handwara, two young promising students from GDC lost a tragedy, which was serious for all of us. I expressed my deepest condolences to my family as I grieve this moment. For the quick recovery of the injured, the Chief Minister’s Office said in an article on X.
Abdullah said the government is closely monitoring the situation and ensuring all necessary assistance.
Governor Lieutenant Manoj Sinha expressed his pain in the accident and expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the deceased.
“The news of two young students’ deaths in the Handwara University bus accident was extremely heartbreaking. During the sad hour, my thoughts were to be with the bereavement family members. Pray for the early recovery of the injured.”
Under the direction of the Chief Minister, his advisers, Nasir Aslam Wani and Javed Dar visited the injured at the Government Medical College Hospital, Handwara and SMHS Hospital in Srinagar.
Wani told reporters after the visit that the Chief Minister approved Rs 1 lakh rupees per family of the deceased, Rs 50,000 for those seriously injured, and Rs 25,000 for other victims.
He added that an investigation into the circumstances that resulted in the accident was also ordered.
Minister of Health and Education Sakeena Itoo visited Kalaroos and Sogam areas to express his condolences to the families of the dead.
She assured her family of all possible support from the government.
“It’s not only a personal loss for the family, but a tragic moment for the entire region. It’s very painful to lose such a promising young life,” Itoo said.
National Conference President Farooq Abdullah also expressed grief over the loss of life and injury.
Abdullah expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the victim’s family in his condolences.
He prays that those who have lost their loved ones will find the strength to deal with their losses. He also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.
The former chief minister of the country urged the government to engage with affected families with adequate relief and compensation and stressed the importance of providing free treatment for the injured.
Kashmir’s chief pastor Mirwaiz Umar Farooq called the accident heartbreaking and said the loss of such a young and promising life was a huge tragedy that shakes the entire community.
He added that such a tragic accident reminds the urgent need to ensure the safety and security of students during education and public travel.
Handwara MLA Sajad Lone visited Handwara Hospital to meet the injured students.
“Thanks to the doctors and healthcare workers who have been working tirelessly. Fortunately, all the students admitted to the Handwara Government Medical College Hospital are safe. I pray for their recovery. Two students, known as Srinagar, died.
The supreme Mehbooba Mufti of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) also expressed grief over the loss of life and prayed for the quick and complete recovery of the injured students.
