Investigate allegations of corruption against drug inspector orders

Minister of Health, Medicine and Family Welfare Y. Satya Kumar Yadav ordered an investigation into allegations of corruption against drug inspectors and directed officials to bring departmental actions against the inspectors.
The order was reportedly required to receive bribes from drug retailers after the department received a complaint against him to avoid any action against them for any misconduct. The corruption allegations against inspectors date back to 2024 and before, when he worked in Adoni. Inspectors were also accused of violating authorities’ orders and covering up chemists who resorted to violations.
Based on the results of the preliminary investigation into the allegations mentioned above, the Minister ordered a regular investigation of the allegations of corruption and compromised integrity by violating the 1964 Andhra Pradesh Civil Service (Conduct) Rules.
At a recent review meeting on the enforcement rules of the Drug Control Commission (DCA), the case expressed concern about the laxity of on-site staff and warned of action against any violations.
