Deepika Kumari, Parth Salunkhe Secure Bronze As India won 7 medals in Archery World Cup Phase 2

Parth Salunkhe and Deepika Kumari won bronze medals in the men’s and women’s individual event for the second phase of the Archery World Cup in Shanghai.

Indian decorative height archer Deepika Kumari showed her toughness by winning the semi-final disappointment in the 2nd Stage 2 of the Archery World Cup in Shanghai on Sunday. Parth Salunkhe also won the podium for the first time, which contributed to India’s impressive seven medals.

The day before, Deepika and Salunkhe added two more medals from the repetitive section to end the Indian campaign with a positive attitude after the dominant performance the day before. Despite facing a failure to dominate Olympic champion Lim Sihyeon in the semi-finals, Deepika showed extraordinary determination in the bronze playoffs, beating Kang Chae Young and earning a well-deserved podium.

Deepika’s victory brought India’s total medal count to six in the event, with five of them being won by the Courtyard Archers, including the third-level achievement of the comeback, which was won by the comeback Archer Madhura Dhamangankar.

In the bronze playoffs, Deepika showed superior calm and strategic clarity compared to the losses against Lim in the semi-finals. Despite the opening link, Deepika led the way with a great performance in the second set. Despite Ginger’s counterattack in the third set, Deepika kept the focus and ended up with a bronze medal.

In the men’s section, Salunkhe, who finished No. 60, showed amazing resilience by losing 1-7 to top seed and Korean archery legend Kim Woojin in the semifinals.

Despite only 1 point in the semifinals on multiple Olympic medals and dominant champions Woojin, Salunkhe defeated high-seeded French archer Baptiste Addis 6-4 in a tense five matches to secure his first World Cup medal.

Salunkhe initially won the opening with a perfect 30 (including X). Although he stumbled on the second set by 8 times, the draw was 28. The third set was a bit confusing, and the two archers could only score 25 points.

Addis then strengthened his game with a perfect 30 points with a score of 4-4.

However, the young Indian archer remained calm in the final, hitting two 10s, one of which was X, and defeating Addis Abedis nine times.
