Defense Minister Rajnath Singh

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh opened an integration and testing facility for Brahmin aerospace in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The Rs 3 billion crore facility is a key part of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh actually unveiled the integration and testing facility for Brahmin aerospace on May 11 (May 11) in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor in Lucknow State. The Ministry of Defence said the Rs 3 billion crore facility is a key part of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor and represents India’s commitment to self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
“It includes not only missile production, but also materials complexes of testing, integrated and aerospace-grade components. It has taken a significant leap to #Atmanirbharbharat and has promoted strategic promotion of regional industrial growth,” the Defense Department said on X.
Spread over 80 hectares
The Uttar Pradesh government earlier said the facility would build one of the world’s fastest supersonic cruise missiles with a range of 290 to 400 km and a maximum speed of Mach 2.8. The device can build 80 to 100 of these missiles per year, and then expand production, launching 100 to 150 next-generation versions per year.
According to a statement from the state government, the Brahmin production department in Lucknow was completed in three and a half years and distributed on 80 hectares of land, which is provided free of charge by the Uttar Pradesh government. The missile is a product of Brahmos aerospace – a joint venture between India and Russia – that can be launched from land, ocean or air and uses the Fire and Forget system.
Go to the defense corridor
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced in 2018 that there are six nodes of the UP Defence Industry Corridor – Lucknow, Kanpur, Arigal, Agra, Jasi and Chitrakot – are making major investments to promote the defence manufacturing industry. It added that Uttar Pradesh is the second state after Tamil Nadu to establish a defence industrial corridor.
