Delhi held a 21k wedding at Akshaya Tritiya; Cait seeks “industry status” as related spending reaches Rs 50,000 crore

The All India Trader (CAIT) federal urged the central government on Wednesday to grant “industry status” to the wedding sector, citing major business activities in a wide range of related sectors including clothing, jewelry, food and catering.
According to Kate’s estimates, wedding-related expenses may exceed ₹Delhi 50 million. The national capital witnessed about 21,000 marriages, consistent with the auspicious day Akshaya Tritiya in the Indian calendar.

“The wedding promotes important business activities in various fields, including clothing, jewelry, food and catering, decoration, photography, transportation, transportation, hotel booking, event management and flower services,” Kate said in a statement.
Need a structured policy framework
Kate National Secretary-General and Member of Parliament Preven Kandelvar ₹1 million, but the industry status has not yet been officially recognized.
He stressed the need for a structured policy framework, proper monitoring and regulations to organize this massive sector and curb cash transactions.
Akshaya tritiya is considered highly favorable in Indian culture. It is believed to bring prosperity and the wedding held on this day is considered particularly lucky.
Khandelwal further said: “Granting the wedding sector’s industry status and implementing regulatory oversight can bring greater transparency and strength to the Indian economy.”
He also urged the central government to form a senior group to recognize the wedding sector, gather opinions from stakeholders and develop comprehensive policies.
The Traders Association also seeks to simplify GST and regulations for businesses in the wedding services industry, as well as financial protection for small suppliers and workers in the industry.
It further stated that organizing and formalizing the wedding sector can ensure that it makes a greater and sustainable contribution to the national economy.
