Demand in the wells in Adilabad due to the water crisis in summer

Adilabad: Villagers from all over the Adilabad region demanded new channels after high altitude temperatures caused the existing wells and water bodies to dry, triggering an acute drinking water crisis.
Collectors are developing an action plan under the Bhagiratha mission to restore supply of affected residences. Officials have identified multiple dry holes and damaged pipe sections that require urgent attention or drilling.
On April 19, Minister of Rural Development Danasari Anasuya Seethakka chaired Nirmal’s review meeting and chaired it with Public Health Engineering and Mission Bhagiratha officials. She directed them to “simplify operations and ensure uninterrupted home supply” and ordered dozens of dysfunctional wells to flush on the edge of collapse.
Former Asifabad MLA Atram Sakku protested against repeated defenses by Narnoor and Gadiguda Mandals, but received no attention. “Despite the urgent attraction, the villagers still lack a drop of drinking water,” he said.
To alleviate the shortage, the government has begun to sink in the Penbi, Kanapur, Utnore and Indravellimanes archipelago, but local MLAs are still under pressure due to the shortage of funds for many Gram panchayats. Sirpur (U), Jainoor, Kerameri, Lingapur and other villages in Tiryani Mandals have also reported severe supply gaps.
Meanwhile, allegations surfaced, with certain contractors drilling at groundwater impoverished sites, resulting in repeated failures and potential misuse of funds. Villagers urge stricter supervision and quick action to ensure safe drinking water before the summer peak.
