Democrat Jasmine Crockett

Jasmine Crockett, a Texas Democrat, made the outrageous claim that Kamala Harris was unpopular among blacks due to his experience as a prosecutor.

Crockett appeared on Chuck Todd’s podcast Chuck Todd, a former NBC host, to discuss issues in the Democratic Party and analyzes why Harris lost to Donald Trump in the presidential election.

Democratic representatives cite pollers who found that the main problem with Harris in marginalized communities was her background as a prosecutor.

Todd pushed Crockett’s answer to ask Harris’ hesitation about candidacy is a resume issue, not an identity issue.

“This does not allow her to build a rapport with trust in these marginalized communities,” Crockett explained.

Todd noted that Harris’s prosecution background has been a problem in her campaign, dating back to her 2019 primary.

Crockett agreed that early polls supported voters’ concerns about Harris’ resume as prosecutor.

The Democratic representative went on to say that in her speech at the Democratic National Convention, she tried to address these misunderstandings by portraying Harris as one of the “good guys.”

Crockett revealed that before the DNC, she was given guidance to “tilt” as Harris’s prosecutor’s background.

“And I thought, “Oh, hell. “I’m like. “That won’t help! “So, when I did that, I did some swings – as a criminal defense attorney,” she explained.

Crockett decided to use Harris’ background as the AA prosecutor, and she wanted to compete with her during her tenure as a criminal defense attorney.

She told Todd that she even spoke with a famous rapper who did not reveal her identity, who supported Harris, but she did not want to publicly recognize her because of her background as a prosecutor.

Crockett said that even though Democrats tried to transfer the narrative to Harris’ resume, time was their enemy during the campaign.

“I think the vice president was baked was that she was a prosecutor. They don’t understand this yet, and it’s hard to traverse this when you talk about a 107-day campaign. ” she added.

Todd agrees: “This is a classic case, at least it will be helpful on this issue.”

“You want people not to be afraid of you, but you want them to trust you. Crockett concluded.

She continued that voters made up Donald Trump as a successful businessman who knew only Harris as a prosecutor.

Even though Harris won most voters of color, Trump is indeed getting stuck with marginalized communities compared to 2020.

Export polls show that 77% of black people who voted for Harris in 2024 voted for Harris, while 92% of black women voted for Blue. CNN.

Trump also fought with Latino men who favored Trump’s vote, with only 44% of them voting for Harris.

The polls are in stark contrast to Trump’s turnout in 2020, where only 19% of black people and 36% of Latino men voted for him.

Black people are considered a key voting group in 2024, prompting Harris to announce a “Black Opportunity Agenda” that includes business loans to forgive black entrepreneurs and funding research on the disease, which has a disproportionate impact on black people.
