Dennis lost all his savings for the cryptocurrency scam. He decided to take things into his own hands – Karma comes back and bite him

A former NAB employee lost his savings due to a cryptocurrency scam and decided to follow in the footsteps of his fraudsters and stole nearly $500,000 from his clients.

Dennis Nguyen pleaded guilty in Victoria County Court and was sentenced to at least 18 months in jail.

The court learned that he was covered by a savings rate of approximately $20,000 on November 14, 2021 and he implemented the plan almost immediately, as reported Daily Telegram.

Nguyen’s Brazen theft involved a massive transfer from his account at NAB to use the details of the same client to create a fake account at Commonwealth Bank.

However, the plan was quickly unraveled only after two transactions.

Nguyen targets clients paying for their own family loans and repaid one for $70,000 and another for $50,000.

Both clients objected to the transaction and were reimbursed by NAB when the bank investigated.

Nguyen was eventually fired by NAB on November 26 and the matter was forwarded to police.

Almost a year later, in October 2022, Nguyen got a job at Judo Bank, and then he stole about $167,500 from a customer, he talked to him twice and learned that she had multiple sclerosis and had difficulty remembering the details.

He cleaned up her fixed deposit account through several transactions without even forging information and then transferred the cash to his ANZ account.

When the Judo Bank asked him, he claimed he was too smart to use his details and accused the liar of stealing his identity.

Nguyen was fired and the matter was again transferred to the police.

Despite being shot twice, Nguyen went on another scam shortly after, writing a review on the Financial Comparison website, which claims to be a senior manager of judo called Patrick.

He told potential clients that if they emailed him directly, he could be better than the standard interest rate offered by judo.

His liar hangs up a man and he transfers $200,000 to an account earned by nguyen. He almost deceived another person who wanted to invest half a million dollars, but when he used his actual name in an email, they became suspicious.

Nguyen stole an estimated $489,000 in three programs.

Judge Samantha Marks said he did show some remorse, and his behavior was “informed” by factors such as the father being a gambling addict.

However, she said the crime was serious and was a major judgment for general deterrence.

He will be eligible for parole in September next year.
