A total of 22 Maoists surrendered before the security forces in Sukma, Chhattisgarh

Police said: “At least 22 Maoists, 12 of whom carried a cumulative bounty of Rs 40.05 lakh, surrendered in the security forces in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Friday (18 April 2025).

He said another surrendered cadre also participated in multiple attacks on security forces. “The Regional Police, Regional Reserve Guard (DRG), the CRPF and its elite departments played a crucial role in surrender,” he said.
“All surrendered Maoists received Rs 50,000 per person and will be further recovered according to the government’s policies.” Last year, 792 Maoists surrendered in the Bastar region, including seven regions, including Sukma.
