The state provides additional funding to more than 43,131 centres at noon

Minister of Social Welfare and Women’s Rights P. Geetha Jeevan announced at the conference on Wednesday that 43,131 noon centres that cater to 4.271 million students will receive an additional funding of Rs 6.161 crore.
During the discussion of the grant requirements for her department, Ms. Jiwan said Rs 966 crore would be spent on the purchase of gas furnaces in 25,440 centres.
The minister further stated that the shelter of trustee Aran will be built in Chennai and Madurai at a cost of Rs 6.4 lakh. Electronic applications will be developed to monitor developmental delays in children and provide treatment immediately. The application will be able to measure learning ability and growth before sending children to school.
She added that pregnant women and new moms will be trained to prevent infant breastfeeding techniques from preventing infant death.
Ms. Jiwan further stated that Rs 220 crore would be spent to train grass-roots workers to measure and monitor early parenting and education as well as development and nutritional deficiencies.
A child-friendly environment will be created in the special courts, which hears POCSO cases in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Dharmapuri and Virudhunagar districts, with a cost of Rs 5 million.
The observation house, special house and protection house of Tamil Nadu government will employ 10 social workers and counselors to deal with children’s psychological problems.
Special campsite
Ms. Jiwan further stated that special camps will be held throughout the state to ensure that people with disabilities can use other equipment to make them self-sufficient.
In three months, there will be 625 camps in 99 companies, 138 municipalities and 388 Panchayat unions.
