HMDA pays tribute to Ambedkar

Hyderabad: To mark the 135th anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar on Monday, HMDA said it planned a tribute to celebrate the lasting legacy of Indian constitutional architects. Special lighting and floral arrangements were performed on the 125-foot-tall Ambedka statue near the Secretariat.

The highlight is the immersive exhibition of Dr. Ambedkar Memorial. The program marks the first expression of Telangana’s young voice, HMDA said.

In the past two weeks, 90 students from fine arts and construction institutions collaborated to produce a diverse variety of art installations. The exhibition is formed in three concentric circles. The outermost circle shows the entire photography journey of Dr. Ambedkar’s life. The middle circle explains his philosophy with devices created by students, while the most introverted circles are dedicated to Buddhism, symbolizing his message of peace, spiritual liberation and equality.

HMDA said it also commissioned a hand-painted portrait of Dr. Ambedkar on Pochampally weaving. The artwork will be unveiled on the exterior wall of Brkr Bhavan on April 14.
