Destruction or technical failure? Spain is in chaos again when this mobile network crash | World News

Four weeks after the massive power outage, leaving millions of people out of power within 23 hours in April, Spain’s mobile network fell on May 20, causing a national communications crisis. Users lost internet access and telephone signals.

Even the emergency line (112) stops functioning in several areas. This situation reaches the temporary numbers that the authorities must provide for emergency services to help those in need.

Major cities such as Valencia, Sevilla, Barcelona and Madrid face the heat of this power outage. All major communication service providers such as Telefonica and Vodafone have been affected by power outages.

The power outage hits harder fixed communications services than mobile phones. It also affects voice services.

According to Downdetector, the power outage began around 2 a.m. and at least 72% of users reported it. 18% of users have no signal. Ten percent of them face a complete power outage.

According to the results of the network upgrade, the crash occurred. “We have done some upgrades, which affects fixed voice and internet services for certain companies. We are working to fix it. Some services (such as 112) have come back,” the media reported.

Meanwhile, authorities claimed that emergency situations have resumed in areas such as Andalusia, La Rioja, Aragon and Valencia.

The Spanish government said it was monitoring the situation and the Ministry of Digital Transformation has asked Telefonica for the latest news of the power outage and demanded a timetable for full recovery.

The subway system in Portugal and Spain faces a pause due to the crash, darkly covered streets and damage faced by airlines. Hundreds of flights were cancelled.

Spain felt the possibility of a cyber attack, with multiple investigations led by a high court judge involving power outages. Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stressed that renewable energy should not be attributed to interruptions. Spanish Grid Head Ree also agreed to the Prime Minister.
