Did you know that Bollywood’s favorite mom was abandoned by her son? She fell in the kitchen and died

Despite her outstanding career, the actress’s later stages are marked by sadness as she died alone after being abandoned by her family.

Bollywood has given us countless actors, whose performances make our lives brighter. Some of these stars may no longer be with us, but rather the characters they portray live in our hearts.

Today, we shifted our focus to an actress who has earned over 250 films in her career and won the titles of Bollywood beloved mother and grandmother. Despite her outstanding career, Achala Sachdev’s later years were marked by sadness as she died alone after being abandoned by her family.

Achala Sachdev was born on May 3, 1920 in Peshawar, a family in Punjab. She is the youngest of four sisters. Sadly, at a very young age, Achala and her siblings had to deal with their father’s serious losses.

To support her family, Achala started working as a young man and became a broadcaster for Lahore All India Radio (AIR). After the partition, her family moved to Delhi, where Achala continued to work at Delhi Air. During her time, she had the opportunity to interview several film characters and even appeared in the film.

In 1950, she was regarded as the sister of the developer in the movie dilrubawhich was successful and opened the door for her in Bollywood. This led to Sarah often taking on roles of mother and sister in various movies. Her performance in the classics Sangam,,,,, sidewalk,,,,, Dil Ek Mandirand Miss Mary Winned her praise.

Achala’s last movie appearance was in Karan Johar’s kabhi khushi kabhie gham (2001), where she plays the roles of Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan as grandmother.

Achala Sachdev got married twice in her life. Her first marriage was with director Gyan Sachdev, whose son was Jothin Sachdev. But, a few years later, Achala and Gyan separated and their son moved to the United States. After the divorce, Achala married Clifford Douglas Peters and moved to Pune. Sadly, after a while, Clifford died, leaving Achala alone and without her family to support her.

After the death of her second husband, Clifford Peters, Achala Sachdev, living alone in Pune, faces enormous difficulties in managing daily tasks. In September 2011, when she slipped and fell into the kitchen, the tragedy hit and her legs broke. Soon after, she was diagnosed with multiple embolisms in her brain, resulting in all paralysis and loss of vision. During her last few days, Achala’s condition worsened and she became unrecognizable. After three months of long struggles in the hospital, she passed away on April 30, 2012, leaving behind a legacy of her unforgettable performance in Bollywood.
