Digambara poet urges Naidu to build memorial for Amaravati farmers

Digambara poet Nagna Muni urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to establish a memorial “stupa” in memory of farmers who are willing to donate their land to build Amaravati.

On the function of the poetry book distribution in Vijayawada on Sunday, the poet proposed that all these peasants’ names should be etched on the commemorative plaques at the site. He further suggested renaming the state to “Andhra State” or “Naval State” to reflect its new identity.

Two collections of poems, Bhumi Navvadam Chusanu By Amulya Chandu and Life drama Radhakrishna Karri was launched during the event. The feature is hosted by writer and columnist Mukkamala Chakradhar.

Nagna Muni reflects on the origins of the movement aimed at bringing literature to the grassroots, saying, “We have released poetry through ordinary citizens such as beggars, hotel staff and rickshaw Pullers to break the literary elite.” He praised Amulya and Radhakrishna’s emerging voices and predicted the new poetic waves formed in Telugu literature.

The event ended with the meaning of aristocraticism and the participation of many poets and poetry lovers.
