Member of MP Shashi Tharoor said India’s idea is a good example of the idea in Kerala, which maintains Mahatma Gandhi’s idea of “unity of diversity”. Mr Tharoor held a Vishu-Id-Easter meeting of the Malabar Social Harmony Initiative organized by the Malabar Social Harmony Initiative (MISH) in Kozhikode, Mr Taroor said that Kerala said that all cultures and communities were welcomed in a way that opened the door.
“Unlike North India, Islam is not coming to Kerala to raise swords, but in a friendly way. The Arab community has been intertwined with the people of Kerala for more than two thousand years, sharing culture, religion and news,” Mr Tarol said, citing the Cheraman Perumal role model who went to Mecca. He added that the Jewish diaspora in India, especially Kerala, is the only one in the world who has never encountered religious and cultural persecution.
Mr. Tharoor said Kozhikode is a beacon of cultural integration and progressive ideas.
“It’s a place where diversity intolerance, but a place to celebrate. It’s part of Kozhikode’s DNA,” he said. Mish Chairman PV Chandran emphasized the unity among people in the rising riots in the name of religion, caste and politics.
