DKS acknowledges issues in planned sanctions because of relying on old maps

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar acknowledged that there were problems with planned sanctions around the water bodies in Bengaluru, saying the cabinet would discuss the issue and communicate it to the court.

The Deputy Chief Minister told the Legislative Council in response to a question from Janata Dahl (secular) member Ta Sharavana, who also strictly strictly protects water bodies.

Mr Sharavana noted that the village maps of the 1918 Bangalore and 1962 survey documents were old, and he said that the lake characteristics were lost due to development. “Bengaluru must be re-invested to update revenue records. Obtaining planned sanctions has become a big problem for the city because of the old investigation and rural maps. In many cases, planned sanctions have been denied.”

Mr Shivakumar acknowledged that there were problems with the plan’s sanctions. “Raja Kaluves was violated and the court has a strong opinion on this issue. We will discuss this issue in the next cabinet and raise some things to the court in the court. We will deal with the real case.”
