DME recruits assistant professors. Professor by walking

Vijayawada: The Bureau of Medical Education (DME) will conduct a walk-in interview next week to recruit associate professors and professors from government hospitals. The DME has identified vacancies and found that 79 of the 157 approved associate professor positions (50%) and 96 of the 160 professor positions (60%) are still not filled in. These positions are being arranged to be filled soon.

As part of a special recruitment campaign, DME recently appointed 41 super professional qualification assistant professors in 20 government and super professional hospitals. The walk-in interview was held on March 24, and after document verification, the final list of selected candidates was announced on March 31. Assistant professors recruited hold qualifications such as DM and MCH, such as postgraduate bachelor’s degrees in various fields.

With this recruitment, the vacancies in the Super Professional Assistant Professor category have decreased by 25%. Before driving, there were 166 vacancies in 365 sanctioned positions (45%). At a recent review meeting, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav noted that 341 of the 682 approved super professional positions (including assistant professors, associate professors and professors) were not filled out, accounting for 50% of the vacancies. He has since instructed DME to start a special recruitment drive.
