The Judicial Party has no end. Chennai Chief Minister MK Stalin said on Tuesday that DMK’s rule in Tamil Nadu is an extension of the Judicial Party’s presidency.
Mr Stralin released a book about the life and legacy of the leader of the Justice Party and the chief minister of the former President of Madras. Thirty years later, when DMK won the 1967 general election, he regarded DMK’s victory as the success of the Judicial Party.
The Chief Minister said that during the 1971 general election, he called on the people to vote for the DMK to form a strong government. “The Minister of Information Technology and Digital Services Palanivel Thiaga Rajan is not the sole heir to PT Rajan. We are all political heirs to PT Rajan in the DMK. Some people may be annoyed when they hear the word “heir”. They may be upset, but we will continue to repeat…
Mr Stalin added that the book is not only a biography of a person, but also the history of the Judicial Party, its leaders and their governance achievements. The Chief Minister said: “Not everyone’s life can be called history, but PT Rajan’s life is undoubtedly history. His contribution to various departments such as collaboration, public works and registration has shaped the development of Tamil Nadu.”
“In 1938, during the anti-Hindi agitation, Pt Rajan famously said: ‘We are not opponents of Hindi, but we oppose the imposition of Hindi on us.’ We continue to express the same sentiment today, and their mindsets remain the same, despite the faces of our enemies.
Recalling the speech of former Chief Minister CN Annadurai on April 20, 1967, he called Rajan “a cultured and knowledgeable person”, N. Ram, director of Hindu Group Publishing Pte Ltd, said Tamil Nadu remains the highest state in the country, not only due to its economic progress, but also its opposition to the return to social norms.
He also praised Mr. Stalin’s position on the implementation of a bilingual policy in the state, the Supreme Court’s recent judgment on the governor’s role in the decision to pass a bill in Parliament and the state’s opposition to the national qualifications-involved review.
Former Madras High Court Justice CT Selvam received the first book, recalling his grandfather and the Judiciary Party leader’s contact with Rajan in Panneerselvam. Venu Srinivasan, honorary chairman of TV Automobile Company, recalls his family’s long-term connections with the PT Rajan family, whose contributions to social justice, equality, spirituality and Tamil.
Ministers Duraimurugan and Mr Thiaga Rajan and Rukmini Palanivel Rajan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, were all present.
