Domi offers senators sadness in overtime

With the series now moving to Ottawa, the dramatic performance gave Toronto a 2-0 lead.
Domi’s decisive strike followed a smooth pass forward after the first game of defenseman Simon Benoit.
Domi cuts sharply into the slot, releasing a wrist shot, and manages to cross the blocker of Senator Netminder Linus Ullmark, throwing Toronto loyalists into a frenzy.
“It’s Benoit’s drama, and he made the whole thing happen,” a cheerful Domi admitted after the game.
“When it’s screaming…you’re a little lucky…you get into the title mark in the middle of the ice, you just have to shoot it. Ullmark is part of the goalkeeper, but we’ll take it.” Domi added that Domi played the hero, and veteran John John Tavares also provided strong performances for the Leafs, contributing to goals and assists. Defensive Morgan Rielly continued to have a surge in offense, scoring his second goal in many playoffs. Goalkeeper Anthony Stolarz stood high between the pipelines and made 26 key savings to keep the Senator in the Bay.
Maple leaves flew around and led 2-0 in the first stage. Rielly opened the score at 3:43, redirecting William Nylander’s precise pass. Tavares then capitalized in a 8:20 power play, his shot deflected Ottawa defensive Nick Jensen and went into the net.
However, the senator refused to back down. Brady Tkachuk shrank one in the second stage power game, his attempt deflecting Toronto’s Brandon Carlo. Ottawa ruled the middle frame, surpassing Leaf 13-3.
Adam Gaudette then shocked the home crowd, tied up the game at 14:47 in the third phase and filmed the first shot of the period from Tyler Kleven Point.
Stolarz comfortably imposed the keys on Dylan late in the third quarter to work overtime, laying the foundation for Domi’s heroism.
Despite the heartbreaking losses, the Senator revolts. “In this dressing room, there is no ounce of panic, doubt.”
“It just shows how much we need this city, how much we need [Canadian Tire Centre] Buzzing. Yes, we look forward to coming home,” Tkachuk added.
Senator’s guard Thomas Chabot responded to this point, saying: “We didn’t give up, we played the game… We didn’t give them a lot of things, maybe the last 40 minutes of the game, we were on their area, and that’s exactly how we wanted to play.
I’m serious [stinks] To lose in overtime, don’t get me wrong, but there are still some positive things to take away. ”
“The first stage is really good, I really liked our start… the second stage, I thought they were better teams and we didn’t make the game. We looked like we were protecting the lead a little bit.”
With a 2-0 lead in command, the Maple Leafs will head to Ottawa for Game 3 at the Canadian Tire Centre on Thursday.
While Toronto has momentum, resilient senators will undoubtedly seek to feed their own crowds and return to the series. The intensity will only increase as the Eastern Conference showdown continues.
