KTR: BRS won’t fight MLC polls

Hyderabad: BRS work chairman KT Rama Rao said the party will boycott the MLC elections for local authorities in Hyderabad on April 23. It does not send candidates in the election. Rama Rao said it would send a whip to the BRS company of the GHMC Council to avoid voting.

The BRS had earlier moved away from two faculty and one graduate student constituency MLC seat from the February 27 elections.

The match for the April 23 election was between N. Goutham Rao of the BJP and Mirza Sayeed ul Hassan Effendi of Aimim. Congress is supporting Aimim candidates.

In last year’s Lok Sabha election, the only poll by BRS was participating in the Legislative Council in the last March 20 MLA quota. BRS candidate Dr. Sravan Dasoju was announced to be elected, with three from Congress and one from CPI as no other contestants were in the seats.

Rama Rao addressed the New York City Party Leader’s Face Meeting in Elkathurthi, Volangal District as part of the preparations for the April 27th Party Jubilee Celebration and Public Meeting.

Rama Rao said: “Due to the failure of the Revanth Reddy administration, the dissatisfaction with Congress, which is stronger than the BJP’s dissatisfaction with Congress, and the BJP’s dissatisfaction with Congress is increasing, we all have to prepare for the upcoming dual choice.”

He also questioned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s silence on the “National Pioneer” case, in which Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were named by the Enforcement Bureau in their allegations. He said: “Revanth Reddy has not said a word on this issue nor has he targeted the BJP government targeted the party’s top leaders. This further demonstrates the close connection between ‘Chote Bhai’ Revanth Reddy and ‘Bade Bhai’ Prime Minister Modi.”

Rama Rao added: “Eight BJP MPs from the state keep attacking and criticizing KCR, but don’t say a word to Revanth Reddy. They protect him like a shield.”
