Hyderabad: Atapur police arrested Shaik Zakeer, 42, on Thursday for transporting Ganja. Inspector K. Nageshwar Rao said Zakeer, an autorickshaw driver from Pahadi Shareef, had gone to Amravati in a train from Kacheguda and purchased one kg dry ganja, worth `20,000 and returned to the city on April 7. The next day, he packed the contrast in 100 sachets and went to Hasannagar to sell it when he was appreciated.
Copper recycling unit caused fire in Kukatpally, no casualties
Hyderabad: A fire broke out at 1.30 a.m. Thursday at a copper recycling unit in Kukatpally. No casualties. Three fire trucks and ten watercraft from different sites soaked the fire during the three and a half hours of operation.
Kukatpally inspector P. Rajesh said the fire was caused by a short circuit. Workers working next to the troops noticed the fire and informed the fire department.
Arvind Kumar, the owner of the department, filed a complaint with police. The case has been registered. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
