Dorvalam round tube will be closed within 2-3 days

Kakinada: Dowleswaram Circle’s water resources authorities will close the canals within its area within two to three days. The decision was written to the irrigation department by collectors in Kakinada, Konaseema and Eluru areas about the necessity of releasing water to the route along the tail end of the agricultural land and water bodies.

Konaseema district collector R. Mahesh Kumar told Deccan Chronicle They have filled the water. But the water has not reached the tail area yet, although 1,100 cusecs of water are being released. If a second crop growing on the tail land is to survive, this flow must continue.

In the Konaseema district, there are 43 water tanks, which have been filled this summer to meet the needs of drinking water. However, in the Eluru area, the tank will take another week. The MLA in the area requires officials to continue releasing the water into the canal until the tank is filled.

In the Godavari area, there are 77 water tanks, most of which are filled. But under the Krishna Canal, filling all 159 tanks will take time.

Rural water supply plan officials said that to avoid drinking water shortages this year, all efforts are being made because water storage is better compared to last year.

In some Mandan islands in the Kakinada district, such as Karapa, Tallarevu and Kajuluru, officials decided to use electric motors to pump water so that the tail end land could be irrigated.

R. Kasi Visweswara Rao, executive engineer for irrigation work, said nearly 6,000 Cusecs of water will be released every day to the San Delta Canal and the West Godavari area. This amount of water will continue to be released for two or three days.
