The State Delivery Commission said a draft notice on ward delimitation of the block panchayats will be issued on May 27.
The number of wards at 152 Panchayats in Kerala will increase from 2,080 to 2,267, a committee led by A. Shajahan said on Tuesday.
The exercise was conducted based on the number of Grama Panchayat wards and the population of the 2011 census.
According to a notice issued by the local directors’ self-government (rural), Block Panchayats has at least 14 wards and will have up to 24 wards.
Complaints and complaints regarding the draft notice will be accepted until June 5.
