Kodanad case: CB-CID issue Jayalalithaa's personal assistant Poongundran

On Tuesday, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Crime Department CID (CB-CID) Police queried S. Poongundran, a personal assistant to former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, as part of his ongoing investigation into Dacoity-Cum-Merder in Kodanad Estate Bungalow, Nielgiris, Nielgiris.
Mr. Poongundran has been a personal assistant to Jayalalithaa for more than 15 years and was summoned to the CB-CID office in Gandhipuram. He appeared at about 11 a.m. to sit down and the inquiry lasted until 5 p.m.
“I have answered their questions,” Mr. Poongundran told reporters when he left the CB-CID office. He declined to disclose the nature of the details requested by SIT officials.
Sources of the investigation said SIT asked Mr. Poongundran about 150 questions. He was asked to provide details of the Bungalow CCTV (CCTV) camera system and on the evening of April 23-24, 2017, armed personnel were accessed after shooting safety guard Om Bahadur.
He also stored files containing sensitive information there. He was also questioned whether any defendant in the case had contacted him or tried to contact him before and after the incident.
