Drunk businessman crashes at sea, injured two friends

Mumbai: Police said a 30-year-old businessman and two of his friends were injured when their speeding car crashed into a divider at Bandra Worli Sea Link on the Bandra Worli Sea Link in the early hours of Sunday morning. They said businessmen driving cars were affected by alcohol at the time of the incident.

An official said the accident occurred around 1.45 a.m. when the three returned to Ghatkopar through Bandra Worli Sea Link from the Haji Ali area. He said the businessman living in Ghatkopal and his two friends, 32 and 47, went to Haji Ali in southern Mumbai.

On return, the merchant lost control of the wheels, and as a result, his speeding car hit a divider on the sea link. The official said the three crew members were injured in the incident. After obtaining the information, Wally police arrived at the scene and the injured were taken to the hospital.

During medical testing, people found they were under the influence of alcohol, the official said. He said Wally police conducted cases against merchants in relevant parts of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and under the Motor Vehicle Act and investigated them.
