DSP and inspectors captured in Suryapet for bribery case of Rs 1.6 lakh

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two senior police officers of the deputy chief of police K. Parthasarathi Suryapet and asked Inspector P. Veera Raghavaulu-requested a bribe of Rs 1.6 lakh to a co-approved official welfare.
The ACB said in an official press release that the official allegedly demanded Rs 2.5 lakh, which was later reduced to Rs 1.6 lakh after the complainant’s request. In a case at the Suryapet II town police department, the bribery attempted to issue notice rather than arrest and allowed the complainant’s scanning center to function without interference.
Both officers were charged with abuse of their posts and performing public duties in dishonest and inappropriate manner. They were produced before the SPE and ACB cases of the II extra judges in Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.
Anyone facing bribery needs is urged to call ACB’s free number 1064. Complaints can also be sent via WhatsApp (94404446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB) or X (@TelanganaAcb). The identity of the complainant will be kept confidential.
