EasemyTrip founders double national security requirements for MakemyTrip

New Delhi: EasemyTrip co-founder Nishant Pitti said firmly on Friday to MakemyTrip’s claims that he accused Chinese tie, a security issue when Indian armed forces book tickets on the platform.
Pitti claims that his rival board members have “a direct connection with China” and that despite the appointment of a new director, “the deep structure of the influence of the company allegedly supported by China cannot be affected.
Earlier, Makemytrip had said Pitti had filed “motivation charges” against them. “McMetrip may see it as a motivated charge,” Pitty replied, but silence is not an option when national security is threatened. ”
The founder of EasemyTrip further claimed that the five board members of MakemyTrip’s board leaders who have affiliation with China may have “greatly influenced” the 10 board members of MakemyTrip.
Ten directors in half of MakeMyTrip’s board have direct relationships with China, including a key appointment to Trip.com, a company that owns Chinese ownership. Of the four largest strategic committees, three were led or significantly influenced by directors of China’s affiliation, which made them disproportionately impacted on key decisions.
He further claimed that the company had a deeply rooted structure suspected of China-backed influence and continued to shape the company.
Pitti’s post added: “The appointment of new directors changed little on May 14, 2025. A single board of directors cannot hide the deeply rooted structure of China’s support, and the influence of China’s support continues to shape the dynamics of the board and committee.”
He also released screenshots of MakemyTrip investor pages showing names and pictures of people allegedly associated with Chinese origin company “Trip.com” and MakemyTrip.
According to Nishant Pitti, James Jianzhang Liang, chairman and co-founder of Trip.com, COO of China Origins, is also part of Makemytrip’s board of directors.
Earlier, EasemyTrip raised serious concerns about potential national security breaches, claiming that Indian armed forces personnel were booking discounted flight tickets through a platform that allegedly owned by China.
EasemyTrip’s co-founder and chairman posted about it on X, saying: “The Indian Armed Forces discount tickets through a platform that China has primarily owned, access to the defense ID, route and date. Our enemies know where our soldiers are flying. Attached with screenshots, this vulnerability exposed–it must be patched now.”
In response to the allegations, MakemyTrip strongly denied the allegations of ownership and data practice, stressing that it is a proud Indian company established and headquartered in India and trusted by millions of Indian travelers for more than 25 years.
MakemyTrip further stated that this would not comment on malicious or motivated allegations, but instead focus on providing the best service to its customers as a responsible Indian company.
