Economic indicators will always be higher than previous years: Chidambaram notes on PM’s TN fund

Chidambaram said in an article on X: “Prime Minister Hon’ble and the Central Minister kept saying that they provided more money to Tamil Nadu in 2014-24 than in 2004-14.
He added: “Ask a first-year student in economics. She will tell you that the ‘economic indicators’ are always higher than in previous years. The GDP is now larger than before. The central budget is larger every year than in previous years. The total spending of the government is larger every year than in previous years.”
“You’re a year older than the previous year. As far as ‘number’ is concerned, the number will be larger, but in terms of GDP or total expenditure proportion, will it be higher?” asked the former Union Finance Minister.
Against the backdrop of the ruling DMK, Modi fouled the allocation of funds when he visited the state on Sunday, and the central government has allocated three times the amount of funds for the development of Tamil Nadu over the past decade, compared with the period before 2014.
He noted that this increased funding has greatly promoted economic and industrial growth in Tamil Nadu. The prime minister said that despite the increase in allocation, some “cry” statements about the funds refer to beneficiaries of the state regarding several initiatives.
