Kumar Gandharva Music School opens in the Master’s Local Village

Last week, many residents of Sulebawi in the Bellagarve region of Karnataka gathered at night at the official high school to witness an important event – the opening ceremony of Kumar Gandharva Sangeet Vidyalaya, a music school built to commemorate the commemorative celebrations of Hindustani Music Legend Kumar kumar Gandharva, a celebration of the Hindustani Music Legend Kumar Gandharva, which is a celebration of the Hindustani Music Legend Kumar Gandharva.
The school is an extension of the Kalmeshwar Nagar Government High School building and is funded by the Markumbi Itihas Upakrama Foundation in Bellagarve. The family of Sulebhavi resident Jagadish Naganur runs a hotel in the house where Kumar Gandharva was born, thanks to the school’s foundation. He told him: “We are glad that the Foundation has agreed to provide musical instruments, appoint teachers and run music schools. We will be very happy if the Karnataka government expands the schools to include more students.” Hindu.

From Karnataka to MPs
Kumar Gandharva was born on April 8, 1924 in Shivaputrayya Sidramayya Komkalimath, Sulebhavi. Early in his life, he received training from his father and uncle. His father sent him to stay at the home of Pandit Br Deodhar to learn from Miraj in Maharashtra. In 1940, he moved to Dewas in Madhya Pradesh to recover from the advent of tuberculosis. During his time at Dewas, he developed a unique singing style.
Upakrama is one of three foundations founded by Bellagarve industrialist Vidya Murakumbi and her son Narendra Murkumbi. The construction of the school is part of the foundation’s celebration of the birth century of Pandit Kumar Gandharva, launched in 2024. Vidya Murkumbi said the foundation will continue to support the school.
