The Enforcement Bureau (ED) arrived at more than 6 locations in Patna, Bihar on Thursday (27 March 2025) to conduct a search operation on the ongoing money laundering investigation conducted by IAS official Sanjeev Hans.

Ed said the searches were conducted against government officials and engineers on bribery allegations.

According to ED’s sources, many evidence of the crime was found and seized.

The money laundering case against Mr. Hans, a bureaucrat in the 1997 batch, was the last time he served as chief secretary of the Bihar Ministry of Energy, which originated from the special vigilance unit of the Bihar Police Department.

ED claimed that Mr Hans “makes money by indulging in corruption practices while holding various major positions in the Bihar government and in the central representatives for 2018-2023.” Mr Hans could not be contacted for comment from the Emergency Department on his allegations against him.

The institution earlier attached the assets worth Rs 2.3 billion acquired by Mr Hans’s “colleagues”.
