Ed visits a man in Bengaluru who claims to have imported Rs 5 billion

The Enforcement Bureau visited a man’s house on Thursday and could search for violations of foreign exchange rules after claiming to import a 5,000 crore dog.

However, the assertion was found to be false.

Sources told PTI that officials from federal investigative agencies found that the man had “no means” to buy such expensive dogs, and that such reports were “just created” for social media participation.

The man reportedly claimed that he had imported the “world’s most expensive” dog, a cross-dog of Caucasian shepherd and wolf. This claim won the glare of ED on social media.

FBI officials acted on the open source information, arrived at his home to verify the claim, only to find that they were fake.

They said the dog’s photos were also widely circulated on social media, owned by his neighbors and were not worth “even a hundred thousand (rupees)”.

Sources said the agency has not initiated any investigation under the Foreign Exchange Administration Act (FEMA).
