Gail completed over 97.6% of the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga pipeline

New Delhi [India]April 13 (ANI): Gail (India) Ltd has completed over 97.6% of the comprehensive Jagdishpur-haldia-bokaro-bokaro-dhamra-dhamra Pipeline (JHBDPL), commonly known as “Pradhan Mantri Urja ganga”, which will carry gas from the eastern and northern regions of India.

The state-owned company said in a statement that almost 96.6% of the commercial business belongs to commercial business.

The pipeline length of the integrated JHBDPL, including the Barauni-Guwahati pipeline, is 3,306 km through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Assam.

Currently, a 3,227 km pipe section has been placed, including the Phulpur -Dobhi -Bokaro -Bokaro -Bokaro -Bokaro -Bokaro -Bokaro -angul -Dhamra -dhamra -dhamra -dobhi -barauni -guwahati Pipeline section, has been placed in commercial operation, the company has accepted commercial operation, including the Phulpur -Dobhi -Bokaro -Bokaro -Bokaro -Bokaro -Bokaro -Durgapur -Angul -Dhamra, Dobhi -barauni -barauni -Guwahati Pipeline section, has been placed in commercial operation.

The pipeline is presently transporting 12.26 Million Standard Cubic Meter Per Day (MMSCMD) of Natural Gas including supplies to four fertilizer plants, two refineries (Barauni and Paradip refineries), industrial consumers and 32 City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks including Varanasi, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Kolkata etc. along pipeline route.

Regarding the Durgapur-Hordia part (294 km), Gail has placed the 132 km pipe part under commercial operation in Kolkata.

The pipeline section to Haldia is 162 kilometers, and 103 kilometers of pipeline laying has been completed. Gail is also laying the pipe length of the dhamra-Haldia part with a length of 240 km, and Gail has laid 198 km of pipes.

Due to limited availability of access rights (ROU), the company statement added that the Durgapur-Haldia section and the Haldia section of the dhamra-jhbdpl extension will be extended from March 2025 to December 2025.

With the balance components of Durgapur – Haldia and Dhamra – Haldia pipelines, Haldia Pipeline will transport the gas to the Hallia refinery, CGD Hora (CGD Howrah, hooghly, Purba Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur and other industrial consumers) along the pipeline route. (ANI)
