Efforts to relegate: US, Saudi, India, Pakistan, Pakistan after Pahargam attack

New Delhi: A week after the Pahargham terrorist attacks rocked Kashmir, the United States said it was closely monitoring developments related to the incident and advised India and Pakistan not to escalate tensions.US State Department spokesman Tammy Bruce said Washington is in touch with the two governments. Bruce said Secretary of State Marco Rubio will talk to his Indian and Pakistani counterparts. Rubio “hopes to talk to the foreign ministers of Pakistan and India as early as today (Wednesday) or tomorrow (Thursday). He encourages leaders and foreign ministers of other countries to engage with the country on this issue.”
Bruce added that Washington is in contact with India and Pakistan “about the situation in Kashmir” and told “they don’t escalate the situation.”

“The only thing I’m ready to discuss here is that the Secretary of State will talk to the foreign ministers of both countries,” Bruce said when asked about comments about Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Islamabad said, “It’s a dirty job for the United States.”


She added: “What I can tell you – obviously we are still monitoring the overall development of the region, and as you know, on multiple levels, I have to say – keep in touch with the governments of India and Pakistan, not just at the foreign minister level, but at multiple levels.” Bruce said: “Of course, we certainly encourage all parties to work together for responsible solutions. But I have no other details in this regard,” Bruce said.
