Mini Spaceship: Like we said, space suits are more than just clothes: they are more like a mini spaceship! We say this because they protect astronauts from extreme weather and vacuum in space, while also providing oxygen breathing and water.
They are very heavy: The air suit looks big, but how much weight does it actually weigh? The spacesuit weighs about 280 pounds or 127 kg on Earth! However, in space, they feel unimportant because of zero gravity.
It took them a long time to wear: It takes about 45 minutes to wear a space suit even at the assistant. The astronauts had to wait another hour before they could walk outside for spacewalk to accommodate breathing pure oxygen.
They provide warmth and cooling: The gloves in the space suit have tiny heating panels that keep warm at freezing temperatures. Despite the cold, this helps astronauts use tools.
