ERC releases retail supply tariffs on 2025-26 without any fees

The Telangana Electric Power Regulatory Commission (TGERC) has approved the southern and northern generator distribution companies and the cooperative power supply association (CESS) Sircilla of Telangana (Discoms) (Discoms) to have a revenue gap of Rs 13,49941 crore and has obtained approved revenues, cross-subsidies and other transactions and IT will not engage with consumers to interact with consumers, encounter them.
TGERC Justice Devaraju Nagarjun issued a retail supply tariff order on Tuesday, which will apply to retail supply orders for 2025-26 from May 1, for both Discoms and Cess consumers. He also issued the committee-approved gross income requirements (ARR) and cross-subsidy surcharges (CSS) approved by the Commission.
The committee approved the ARR of the Southern Generator Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd (TGSPDCL) at Rs 41,128,21 crore and TGNPDCL approved Rs 174,9987 crore, totaling Rs 58,628.09 crore, with an appropriation of Rs 65,849.74 crore and a grant of Rs 65,849.74 crore. Similarly, the Commission approved taxes of Rs 58.138 crore while Rs 65.465 crore.
The TGERC chairperson said the income gap for approval of TGSPDCL was Rs 4,980.34 crore and the income gap for TGNPDCL was Rs 81,417 crore. Likewise, for CESS, it was approved at Rs 37737 crore. He noted that the state government’s subsidies increased by 17.4% compared to last year – 2025 – 26 – 134,9941 crore, while 114,9952 crore. The government-issued subsidies include Rs 116,026 crore for free electricity for agricultural pumps and Rs 18,9681 crore for domestic consumers, especially for the 200 free electricity supply scheme per month.
As the Commission has announced, there are no tariffs for any category of consumers. Public hearings were held on March 18, 19 and 21 respectively in Sircilla, Hanamkonda and Hyerabad.
The commission has raised the contracted load limit for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations (LT-IX) from the existing 56 kW/75 hp to 150 kW/201 hp. Similarly, the approval of the grid support fee is Rs 18.48 per kilowatt-hour per month.
The backup fee for open access to consumers will exceed 10% of the applicable tariffs and is only within the energy range beyond the maximum demand for the contract. However, if the open consumer notifies the licensee (Discom) 24 hours in advance, there will be no backup fee. If open access consumers notify Green Energy at least one day in advance, backup fees will not be charged.
