evacuation in 5 border areas of the Chamu area; Abdullah visits relief camp

Check mu: In the ongoing cross-border shelling, people evacuated five areas bordering Pakistan from at least five areas in the Jamu area, killing 18 people and wounding nearly 60 people. So far, thousands of people have moved to safe rescue camps.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, along with Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and Minister Satish Sharma visited the relief camps in the Chamu, Rajuri and Samba areas to monitor arrangements and ensure displaced families.
“Eighty to ten thousand border residents have been evacuated from the Lajuri Hill belt,” Sharma said.
