The Congress-led opposition of Kerala United Democratic Front (UDF) will boycott the fourth celebration of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government.

The UDF will launch a parallel campaign to oppose the Nature Party’s “taxpayer fee propaganda blitz.” It urged Lok Sabha members, legislators and local representatives not to participate in any government function unless the development of their respective constituencies.

The leader of opposition VD Satheesan said in a news conference Saturday that the U.S. Natural Party “vacuumed the state’s exhausted political campaign Treasury,” and conducted polls and 2026 parliamentary elections at local agencies this year.

He said that the Natural Party’s “unlimited scope of squandering is not limited.” He noted that it had been designated as the huge hoard of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan Rs 15 crore.

“Spension is just the tip of the iceberg. The Nature Party is investing public funds into a propaganda blitz, aiming to cover up its frustrating administrative failures, stagnation in development, scandals involving the Chief Minister’s Office and scandals of the government’s abandonment of factories,” he said.

“Self-imposed financial emergencies”

Mr Satheesan sent a series of complaints to the government. He said two consecutive Nature Party governments have put the state in deep debt, poor financial management, lack of pallets and bleak tax management have exacerbated the economic crisis.

“The self-caused financial emergencies have shown a lack of medication in the hospital. Workers are unable to cash in on their board of directors’ investments in their welfare fund.

The government’s market intervention policy failed to curb seller inflation. It owes suppliers a lot of money. Fuel, electricity and water surcharges and unreasonable income expenses have exacerbated the crisis of life. He added that the civil works have been stopped due to the inability to pay for public works contractors.

Meanwhile, Mr Satheesan said there is no concept of LDF spending money on various boards and public service committees (PSCs).

Mr Satheesan said wildlife attacks on farmland weakened the rural economy. The price of cash crops plummeted. He added: “The government has no money to hike the minimum support price of rubber and coconut. Paddy procurement has stopped. There is no government. Mr Vijayan has pushed Kerala to a downward trend.”
