Bharti Airtel of Indian billionaire Sunil Mittal has partnered with fast business platform Blinkit to provide SIM cards to customers in 10 minutes. Deepinder Goyal’s Zomato acquired Blinkit for $568 million in 2022. After delivering the SIM card, the customer can activate the numbers using Aadhaar-based KYC authentication according to the prescribed process. Customers will have the option to choose from postpaid and prepaid plans or trigger mobile number portability (MNP) to port to the Airtel network. Customers must activate SIM within a 15-day window to ensure a smooth and worry-free transition. In the initial stage, SIM delivery services will be available in 16 major cities including Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Sony Pat, Ahmedabad, Surat, chennai, chennai, bhopal, indore, Indore, Bangladesh, Mumbai, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Lucknow, Jaipur, Jaipur, Kolkata and Hyderabad. According to the press release, there are plans to add more towns over a period of time.
“Customers will receive the SIM card in a minimum of 10 minutes and will be in the name of Rs 49,” Airtel said. To simplify the process, customers can access online links and view activation videos for a seamless activation experience. Additionally, for all such activations, Airtel customers have the option to access any help from the Help Center through the Airtel Thece App.
