Experts revealed that Ban Luolong is at risk of death. Do you know how to use punctuation marks that were once popular?

A study found that the ancient half-lon was dying because the British admitted that punctuation would never or rarely be used.

In 19th century English literature, it appears once every 205 words, but today, one out of every 390 words.

The survey found that 67% of British students never or rarely use semi-colonials, and only 11% of respondents described themselves as common users.

Furthermore, more than half of respondents did not know or understood how to use punctuation correctly.

The use of semi-colonials is to connect two parts of the omitted conjunction, such as ‘cat sits on a mat; mouse looks from behind the sofa.

It should be used between two main clauses, which are balanced or contradictory, but are linked too closely to be written as separate sentences.

The MailOnline style guide suggests it is mainly used on the list (for example, unusual backstage requests for bands include: green M&M only; waitresses dressed like Stormtroopers; and retired astronauts.” The last item was before the half-long, with the word “and” from the beginning.

Lisa McLendon wrote the research and wrote a book dedicated to punctuation: “Banlong: How misunderstanding punctuation can improve your writing” that enriches your reading and even changes your life.

The semicolon originated in 1494 and was invented by printer and publisher Aldus Manutius.

It is designed as a mix of punctuation marks to combine elements of commas and colon to indicate pauses between the commas and the length of the colon.
