People split at the Tanaka junction and police stay open until schools reopen

Hyderabad: Even after the trial period at the Tanaca junction, where commuters are still in chaos, traffic police remain unsure of the future course of action due to slip and overwhelming feedback received from people. Due to traffic signals from Tarnaka, as traffic jams were alleviated in Habsiguda Crossroads and Secunderabad, the police decided to keep the junction open until reopening at schools in June.
“A decade later, we have opened the junction and we have seen mixed public reactions that will open the junction until a definite decision is made,” said a senior police officer.
The junction is open at trial from April 18 to May 2. Although traffic police have notified the public and residents of the opening for several days, people are still confused.
While commuters from Lalapet and Osmania University are allowed to receive correctly and directly from the junction, commuters from Secunderabad to Uppal are still confused and are waiting for the green light, hindering other commuters.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Nallakunta Traffic Inspector M. Satyanarayana said: “Opening is not the best decision for those who are commuting long distances, but for those who are short-distance traveling, it’s easy to cross the intersection and experience it in a clear way.”
He said a man who traveled from Keesara to Banjara Hills is used to turning around and would rather do so than wait for a signal. “With most commuters waiting at the Tanaca junction, traffic flows in Habsiguda and Secunderabad have been alleviated. Congestion in other signals has therefore decreased relatively.”
Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted a poll on the “X” (formerly Twitter) seeking public opinion. However, the results show that people are evenly diverging in terms of openness at the junction. Police said the intersection will be open for a while until a comprehensive understanding of this and will work before the school is restored.
