Farmers get unique IDs related to central planning

Adirabad: The Ministry of Agriculture has begun registering farmers under the center’s “Farmers Registration Form” and plans to issue an ID card similar to Aadhaar. Each registered farmer will be assigned an 11-digit ID that the center can link to the upcoming welfare plan and development plan. The ID card will be related to details such as land size, soil quality and crops grown, all of which will be uploaded to the Ministry of Agriculture’s “Agri stack” app.
Registration begins with cross-village registration Tuesday, where Agriculture Extension (AEOS) collects and uploads farmers’ data to the app. As of January 1, 2025, land-related details have been collected by the Chief Commissioner of the Land Administration (CCLA), Telangana, and synchronized with the central database.
Once the farmer's Aadhaar number is entered, the details of their land holding will appear in the app. Farmers can also update or add new land information. The app will show all land owned by farmers across India.
Adilabad Regional Agriculture Official Sridhar Swamy said the 11-digit ID will work like Aadhaar and can be used to connect to central welfare schemes. He clarified that the registration was voluntary and had nothing to do with Telangana's Rythu Bandhu or Rythu Bheema program. He also confirmed that the registry will not affect national program benefits. Swamy added that its aim is to integrate and digitize farmers' data on national platforms.
