Fire broke out at Dilli Haat Market in Delhi; 30 stores are in trouble, no causality

Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said the fire was under control.
“We received a call at the Dilli Haat market at 8.55 pm and sent 14 fire trucks to the scene. A total of 30 stores were burned. The fire was put out, no injuries, no injuries,” said Atul Garg, head of the Delhi Fire Department.
Earlier, Delhi police set the number of destroyed stores at 25.
Smoke rolled in from several stores, and the flames leaped into the sky as the fire swept through the open-air art and craft groups.
Although one store owner claimed that the goods worth at least Rs 100 crore were destroyed, another store said Shauket Ahmed said he lost at least Rs 15 crore by himself.
“We don’t know how the fire broke out, but we can’t save anything,” he said.

Some shop owners said in a video chat with PTI that there were no proper fire safety arrangements on the market.
Vijai Kumar, who sells Madhubani paintings, said the fire spread rapidly due to the lack of firefighting equipment such as fire extinguishers.
“It took nearly an hour and a half to arrive. There weren’t enough arrangements to help us with this emergency,” Kumar said.
Traders said the fire broke out around 8.30 p.m., probably due to a short circuit.
Police said in a statement that PCR calls were received at the Sarojini Nagar Police Station about the market fire at around 8.45 p.m.
“Turnished action, SHO and police officers arrived at the site and found a fire engulfing about 24 stores in the stage area of ​​Delhihart,” it said.
It added that the area was immediately evacuated and managed to control the fire.
It said police and fire department teams are still on the scene and further investigations are being conducted to determine the cause of the fire.
“The fire in Dilli Haat was under control. Although several stores were burned by God’s grace, there were no reports of casualties. I met the affected people at Dilli Haat,” said Mishra, Minister of Arts, Culture and Languages.
