Fitch believes the world’s weakest growth outside the pandemic since 2009

Fitch scores lowered forecasts for global growth on Wednesday, with the exception of the weakest expansion since 2009, a common 19-day pandemic as global trade tensions escalate.
Fitch said in a special update to its quarterly global economic outlook that it expects world growth to be below 2% this year.
Rating agencies said it has lowered its global growth forecast for 2025 by 0.4 percentage points compared to March data, and growth estimates for China and the United States fell by 0.5 percentage points.
“The annual growth in the U.S. is expected to be 1.2%, but the crawl in the year will slow to 0.4% year-on-year (YoY) in the fourth quarter of 225,” Fitch said in a statement.
“China’s growth is expected to be below 4% this year, while the euro zone’s growth will remain well below 1%.”
