Five men were beaten for assaulting women in Karnataka village

Dawan police arrested five people on charges of assaulting a woman in public. The alleged attack was held on April 9 in Tavarkere village in Dawang district of Karnataka.
A group of men shared on social media on April 14-15 that a group of men beat and harassed women in Berka. They attacked her with sticks and rubber tubes. They accused her of engaging in an extramarital affair and used abuse words.
Police tracked the woman and learned that the attacker was her relative. She filed a complaint, resulting in the arrest of the defendant.
The first information report lists allegations of intimidation, insults, assaults and attempted murder of Mohammad Nayaz, Mohammad Ghouse, Mohammad Rasool, Inayat Ullah and Chand Pasha. They have been remanded in judicial custody.
On April 15, police station Uma Prashant told reporters in Davangere that an investigation is underway.
