On Wednesday, the Revolutionary People's Committee (RPC) of the five CPI (Maoist) from Komatipalli village in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh surrendered to police in the town of Mulugu district headquarters on Wednesday.
Mulugu Police Chief Dr Shabarish handed over Rs 25,000 among five surrendered Maoists at the local police headquarters late Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the surrendered RPC members were involved in several incidents of Maoist violence in the South Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.
In this way, the total number of surrenders in front of the Mulug area police so far this year has reached 47.
